🏆 Emerging ICT Professional of the Year - Finalist
Melbourne Python Users Group
This group is a monthly gathering of Python users and developers in the Melbourne area. We discuss Python and related open source technologies. It is a networking forum for meeting other locals interested in Python and exchanging news and ideas.
I've been a member of the "Python User Group" for almost a year and had a chance to speak about the topic "How to access Google Spreadsheet data using Python" on June Meetup, 2019 as my first speech there.
In this presentation, I've explained how to use the Gspresd Python package to read, write, and delete data from a Google Spreadsheet with just a few lines of code. The speech went around 30mins with a live demo and luckily nothing went wrong.

JAWS-UG AWS Pankration 2021 (Conference)
JAWS-UG is a group (community) of people who use cloud computing provided by AWS (Amazon Web Services). JAWS-UG is a community of people who use cloud computing provided by AWS (Amazon Web Services). We hold study sessions and exchange events by volunteers for the purpose of learning and exchange that cannot be done alone. We have groups in the form of chapters all over Japan, and each group conducts activities based on its own theme. This community is a non-profit organization.
About the session
Music is something we all enjoy. The VHS, DVD and CD era has gone to dust and it's all streaming platforms are the giants in the music industry. For example, Spotify will suggest you a few playlists based on your listening history/activity/behavior, But sometimes I wanted to create my own music. The best example I can give you is; I'm really into 1980's music. So I wanted to extract the data tagged as 80's and sort everything by popularity and slice the dataset to X amount of rows (ie.100) and create my own playlist.
I was able to automate this to run on every weekend at 4am so my playlist is updated every week. I used Lambda/AWS Event Bridge/ S3 and Redshift to house all the data as a datawarehouse

Thomas MulvaneyGeneral Manager, Impact and Strategy at Family Life (Melbourne)
"Dilan worked under me for a period of 1 year while he was reading for his degree in Computer Science. During this time he was able to quickly transition into a skilled ASP.NET developer. He skillfully used his education in programming to grasp the internal workings of our homegrown Content Management System in a short period. He built many websites with varying complexity on our platform within the allocated time constraints. At times he was working on multiple projects concurrently showing his flexibility in switching around projects and still delivering solid code. He was able to win my confidence in a short period with his intuitive problem-solving skills and I had him assist me in developing enhancements to the system and creating new modules. He was in his final year which demanded more of his time and unfortunately, Dilan had to leave us. He truly was an asset to our organization and I highly recommend him for any programming role."

I had the pleasure of working with Dilan during his time at KaleidoSource. Even though we weren't in the same team, I saw his dedication to work and I strongly believe he is ambitious, talented, organized and definitely the missing piece to any team. Wishing you all the very best in your future endeavors, Dilan!"
